As a disciple of eminent Gurus - Vidwan K N Krishnamurthy, Vidwan B C Manjunath, Vidwan K V Prasad, and Vidwan Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma, Somashekar Jois has mastered the art of Konnakkol with profound dedication. He holds the distinction of being the first artist in Karnataka and the second in India to receive an A Grade in Konnakkol from All India Radio, Prasar Bharati.
